Search Tips

If the administrator of this site has enabled searching for you, you can run either a simple search or an advanced search (with more search options). The administrator may also have enabled you to create saved searches.

Tips

To search for a single word, just type the word; for example,
financial

To search for more than one word, type the words; for example,

Advanced Search

You can refine your search by using advanced search. Advanced search lets you create multiple criteria on which to search and lets you specify which locations to search in.

Following are the conditions you can select to constrain searches: contains, contains phrase, does not contain, does not contain phrase, could contain, and could contain phrase. The contains, contains phrase, does not contain, does not contain phrase conditions function as "and" searches. The could contain and could contain phrase conditions function as "or" searches.

To run an advanced search:

  1. Click Advanced to display the Advanced Search view.
  2. Choose a document property from the first menu (for example, Title).
  3. Choose a condition from the second menu (for example, contains).
  4. In the next field, type in a word on which you want to search.
  5. Optional: Click the Add condition icon (the plus icon) and repeat the previous steps.
  6. You can specify locations to search in (see below) or click the Search button to run the search.

To specify locations in which to search:

  1. After creating your advanced search criteria (see above), select specific locations from the Search in menu.
  2. Ensure the check boxes next to the locations in which you want to search have check marks.
  3. Clear the check boxes (by clicking on them) next to the locations in which you do not want to search.
  4. Click the Search button to run the search.

You set two conditions for the following advanced search:

The search results return documents that satisfy any of the above criteria.
