Samaritan's Purse is sending a Disaster Relief Unit to Georgia, where days of torrential rains have caused widespread flooding. They need volunteers to help with this response. To learn more about the relief effort, please visit their website (http://www.samaritanspurse.org).

If you are interested in serving or leading a team of volunteers, the Dallas, GA, location is up and running. Volunteers should call 678.202.5974 to sign-up. The voicemail system has been having problems, so it's better to try to speak to a person.

The Woodstock location hopes to be up and running by Monday.

Details:

Time: 7:30am to either 3:30 or 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday (volunteers are asked to stay as long as they can) Tasks: mostly clearing out flood debris from homes and cleaning up (i.e. tough work)

Attire: sturdy work boots, work gloves, clothes that can get dirty Tools: if you have rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, etc., please bring them Meals: lunch and snacks are sometimes provided... ask when you register.

*As our Intersect team receives more information from Samaritan's Purse, we will update this site..
