Ongoing Service Opportunities for Individuals


*Reading to Kindergartners*
Stop by Woodson Elementary on your way to work to read books to Kindergarten students from 8:15-8:35 am on weekdays. Children age pre-school or younger can accompany their parent. The volunteer opportunity is available any day Atlanta Public Schools are open. Please email intersect@buckheadchurch.org for directions. If you'd like to contact the school in advance to let them know to expect you, please call 404.802.7350.
*Mentoring a Student at Woodson Elementary*
Spending 1 hour a month can make a difference in a child's school performance. If you're interested in mentoring a student at Woodson Elementary, please call the school at 404.802.7350 to learn more about this opportunity. You can email intersect@buckheadchurch.org for directions to the school.
*Working in a Thrift Store*
Help Buckhead Christian Ministry operate their thrift store ministry. You'll help by sorting and pricing clothes, arranging displays of household goods, running a cash register, and aiding shoppers. Shifts are Monday through Friday 10am-1pm or 1-4pm. For more information, email intersect@buckheadchurch.org.
*Caring for Children*
Volunteer in the infant, toddler, or pre-k classes with Atlanta Union Mission's My Sister's House! You'll be watching children while their mothers attend classes or are at work. Help is needed Monday through Friday 9am-noon. Please email intersect@buckheadchurch.org for more information.
*Tutoring Students at Atlanta Union Mission*
Assist children ages 5 to 10 at My Sister's House with their homework. Your time is needed Monday through Friday 3:30-5pm. For more information, please email intersect@buckheadchurch.org.
